Overview of class

Welcome to SHAPE! We're so excited to start working together so that you all become confident and effective peer educators. SHAPE training is designed to give an overview of topics that will enable members to respond to a myriad of questions they might encounter at Northwestern and prepare them to be effective peer educators. The goal is for us to learn from presenters and from each other while always having the key ideas of sex positivity, social justice, and activism present in our minds! Thanks for being here!

A huge part of being a SHAPE member is facilitating presentations that are requested by various student groups on campus and guiding conversations. Throughout the training, current SHAPE members will visit us to walk through the content of SHAPE's main presentations and model how to guide respectful and effective dialogue. At the end of the training, you will be asked to pair up with another trainee to deliver a presentation to an audience of current SHAPE members and facilitate class discussion. Becoming a SHAPE member is contingent on successfully demonstrating your knowledge through both of these mediums. Don't stress-we will make sure you are prepared!

Feel free to bring food, water, and whatever else you might need to be comfortable during the training.
