Overview of class
This course explores the molecular basis of successful cell division and the consequences of chromosome segregation errors on human health and disease. Students will examine the molecular mechanisms governing mitosis and meiosis in depth, then analyze how disruptions in these processes contribute to infertility, aneuploidy, cancer, and other human diseases. The course will emphasize discussion of primary research literature to deepen understanding of these cellular mechanisms and their biomedical implications.
