Overview of class
Writing scientific articles is a critical part of research. Graduate students are often expected to learn this skill through experience in close collaboration with their advisor. While this mentoring relationship is a key aspect of writing skill development, there are a range of resources and guidelines that can provide students with a stronger foundation from which to further develop their skills. In this course, we will deconstruct writing a publishable scientific article into parts, providing students with guiding principles and hands-on practice at each stage. The final product will be a scientific article that provides a basis for future degree requirements, publishing goals, and funding opportunities.
