Overview of class
This course will introduce students to methods used in psychological research. Research methods will be explored through readings, lectures, discussions, and hands-on research projects. Students will get experience developing a research question, reading scientific literature, designing and carrying out a study, analyzing data with basic statistical techniques, and presenting their research findings to their classmates. We will discuss applications of concepts we are learning with real world examples and in practical research settings. Students will complete research papers in APA format throughout the quarter with instructor support, as well as in-class assignments that build on our readings.
