Overview of class

This class will present Alice in Wonderland in an adaptation from the original text by Linda Gates as a radio/podcast play which will be performed and recorded in partnership with the SOC Department of Radio/TV/Film.

There are at least 38 characters in Alice in Wonderland including people, animals and fantastic creatures as well as Alice and a Narrator, who all speak in a dialect of English of the Victorian period: British RP, Irish, Cockney, Yorkshire and others. All students will have the opportunity to play multiple characters as well as act as a Narrator using a variety of dialects and voices.

Registration Requirements

To enroll students must have completed THEA 170 Voice for Performance

Text: Alice in Wonderland: The Norton 4th Edition. This edition gives the text of both Alice in Wonderland, Alice Through the Lookingglass and The Hunting of the Snark. It also gives biographical information on Charles Lutwidge Dodgson whose pen name is Lewis Carroll
