Overview of class
For graduate and select undergrads. Students acquire the skills and tools to generate professional caliber scale models of theatrical designs. Scenic models are crucial tools for developing design ideas and communicating to directors and technicians. A well-crafted, detailed model accurately conveys your design, and provides information in your absence. It also represents you as an artist. Generating quality models requires both craftsmanship and artistry. Drawing and painting techniques are important in model building, and will be addressed often. Class time will be dedicated to demonstrations of model building techniques and critiques of assigned projects.
