Overview of class

This course provides hands-on experience in the development of a new musical, centered on the creation of Northwestern's annual Waa-Mu Show. Students are assigned to creative teams responsible for shaping specific sections of the show, advancing the script, refining songs, developing staging, and crafting musical arrangements. Working closely with alumni mentors, the class focuses on the collaborative process of transforming raw material into a production-ready draft. Students gain practical insight into the artistry, craft, and teamwork required to bring a new musical from page to stage. This course can be used to fulfill a requirement for the Creating the Musical Module.
