Overview of class

This is the third class in the series of graduate level design classes for the stage. Students will generate a directorial concept and complete design proposal for an opera, in an active collaboration as a team. This work will be evaluated as a complete, professional level design presentation. Every scene of the play must be integrated into the final proposal. The course will consist of design projects, class critiques of design work, and class discussion.

The course will include design students from all three areas of design (Scenery, Costumes, & Lighting). We will meet together, as a group most days and separately with individual faculty at certain points in the quarter.
