Overview of class

The Graduate Production Workshop will primarily focus on lighting and cinematography, with a brief introduction to sound and editing, placing greater emphasis on practical experience. You'll be introduced to the Canon C70 digital cinema camera and will learn about light, color, and lenses. You will master most of the lighting, grip, and camera movement equipment available in the cage. You will also have few sessions covering sound equipment and editing.
In addition to the technical aspects of filmmaking, you'll begin to explore the artistic side of the craft. You will create two films—one focusing on static images and the other on moving images. You will rigorously develop your ability to translate meaning, story, and ideas into visual form.
This workshop will focus on cultivating your unique voice as a filmmaker. It is an excellent opportunity to spend more time behind the camera and to develop a confident, distinct filmmaking style.
