Overview of class

In this course students will study the fundamental movement vocabulary and terminology common to classical ballet. The barre exercises will condition and prepare you to execute themovement vocabulary in the center. The practice develops strength, balance, and stretch with an emphasis on anatomical alignment for ballet technique.
The theory, body positions, port de bras, and arabesques are Cechetti based.
My primary mode of teaching is somatic and kinesthetic, using imagery and sensation of the moving body to learn, rather than mirror/shape focused visual cues.
