Overview of class
During our time together we will use San Francisco (and the unique elements that make the area a center of innovation and technology) to help you develop your knowledge, understanding, and skills in User Experience (UX) design.
In a short period of time, students will be exposed to foundations in visual and communication design (which form the building blocks of any digital interface), practice concepting and prototyping techniques (to make ideas tangible), and gain exposure to common UX design artifacts like information architecture (IA) diagrams and user flows (which are used to build digital products).
In the process of learning techniques in UX Design, you will more broadly be exploring the UX Design process. The UX Design process emphasizes collaboration and rapid iteration - expressing and testing ideas with an audience in a virtuous cycle. This course will require extensive exploration, creation, experimentation, and communication.
The course is intended for those who are new to UX Design (and design in general) and will enable you to understand what goes into building intuitive digital experiences. After the week you will certainly not walk away as a "full-stack" designer, but will be equipped with foundations, tools, terminology, and mindsets in UX design that can be applied within various contexts.
