This first year seminar has two objectives: (a) to teach you about environmental justice and environmental justice movements in Chicago, and (b) to assist you in acclimating to college life and work.

The first part of the course will cover the history of the environmental justice movement in the US, including some of the movement's main objectives, and review community case studies both successful and unsuccessful. EJ movements in Chicagoland.
