Overview of class

This is a 10-week course meant to give students a deeper understanding of pedagogical approaches to being a teaching assistant or instructor of record. We will explore various ideas of assessment, lab and recitation activity design, lesson planning, and more in an effort to allow students to establish their own philosophy of teaching. Throughout the course, students will complete weekly writing assignments to encourage both critical analysis and personal reflection on approaches to teaching. The final assignment will be to compose a personal teaching statement.
