Overview of class
In this course, students will have the opportunity to deepen their work on character, movement, and script analysis in an ensemble setting. We will explore techniques from various acting practitioners including Chekhov, Stanislavski, Hagen, and Laban to strengthen our acting toolkits, explore the physical and emotional worlds of our characters, and make strong creative choices in performance. Students will have the opportunity to engage in partnered/group scene work, in addition to preparing a monologue, and developing foundational audition techniques. This course is well-suited to students who have taken TH-171: Basic Acting, or who have some prior acting experience. Please contact the instructor for questions (claudiakinahan2024@u.northwestern.edu).
