Overview of class
Students will investigate essential elements & concepts of comedy including but not limited to pace, rhythm, energy, surprise, comedic point-of-view, tone, improvisation, ‘yes and…,' incongruity, arrested action, lazzi, farce, physical comedy, wit, malaprop, non-sequitur, entrances & exits, runners & buttons, clear beats, and verbal alacrity. The course will culminate in original solo comedic performances of personal narratives.
Registration Requirements
Open to senior Theatre majors who have completed THEATRE 373-3.
Students may initially enroll in just one THEATRE 375-0. If spots remain available at the end of the first week of regular registration, they will be open on a first-come, first-served basis to any senior Theatre major who meets the prerequisites.
Enrollment Requirements
Enrollment Requirements: Anti-requisite: Students cannot enroll in more than one section of THEATRE 375-0 during preregistration.
Prerequisite: Students must have completed THEATRE 373-3 to enroll.
