Overview of class
This course is designed to teach you advanced techniques for the Computer Aided Design (CAD) program Vectorworks with a primary focus on theatrical lighting design. In this class you will work over the course of the quarter to build and develop the skills and critical thinking techniques necessary for the professional application of the program. Weekly lectures, demonstrations, and in-class work time will provide you with the needed understanding of the tools being used that week to complete the assignments. While the final goal of this class is a functional hybrid drafted space, major emphasis will be given to the development of technical skills and understanding the graphic standards of theatre design. In Vectorworks, there is almost always more than one solution to a problem. This class aims to equip you with the necessary building blocks to craft your own workflow in a way that is most efficient for you. (All designers)
