Overview of class
This course will introduce graduate students of design and advanced undergraduate students to materials and technologies used for the creation and augmentation of specialty costume pieces and accessories for unique characters. Techniques covered in the class will vary and may include textile manipulation, fabric dying and innovative sculpting techniques using foam-clay and Worbla thermoplastics. By the end of this course, students will learn necessary craft skills to accommodate effective communication between the costume craft artisan and costume designer.
Registration Requirements
Undergrad Pre-Reqs: THEA 221-2 Costume (required) and any of the following two: THEA 200 Directing and THEA 320 Design Studio 1
