Overview of class
Students in this workshop-driven class will learn to write and analyze the dramedy pilot with emphasis on comic/dramatic pilot structure, tone, character creation and organization, seeking mastery the creation of the modern dramedy series pilot. There will be weekly
reading/writing assignments, Canvas participation (response and peer reactions) in service of the completion of a 30 page dramedy pilot and revised pilot treatment.
Learning Objectives
The development and creation of the modern dramedy pilot for a dramedy series.
Class Notes
Knowledge of structure and content of a scripted television pilot is suggested.
Enrollment Requirements
Enrollment Requirements: Reserved for RTVF Majors with the RTVF 260-0 prerequisite or students in Writing: MFA or Documentary Media: MFA programs until the end of preregistration, after which time enrollment will be open to everyone with the prerequisite.”
Undergraduate students must have completed RTVF 260-0 in order to register for this course (concurrent registration is not allowed). Writing: MFA or Documentary Media: MFA students may register for this course.
