Overview of class

AI is reshaping the way work gets done in organizations. This course examines that shift from multiple perspectives: the broad questions about AI's effects on jobs and organizational life, and the practical science of leading teams whose members include both people and intelligent machines. We draw on research in team science and organizational communication to understand how AI affects the affective, cognitive, and behavioral dynamics that determine whether teams succeed. A central concern is how to collaborate with AI in ways that maximize learning and preserve human skill, rather than quietly eroding both. Students engage these questions through case studies, leadership activities, and direct experience with AI tools.
