Overview of class

Students in this section of International Human Rights will use international legal frameworks and strategies to promote the human rights to health and to a healthy environment. By engaging in a weekly seminar coupled with hands-on project work, students will hone critical lawyering skills, such as interviewing; legal research and writing; strategic analysis; communication and advocacy skills; and more. Students will have the opportunity to choose from projects defending the rights of Indigenous communities in Latin America; promoting the health and well-being of groups who are disproportionately exposed to environmental harms; and advancing international law and policy related to human rights and climate justice.

Registration Requirements

For this section of the International Human Rights Clinic, the possibility of continuing into the spring semester will be capped at 2-3 students, who will be selected through an application process.
