Overview of class
Reputation, Influence, and Public Culture examines how individuals, organizations, and brands build, maintain, and repair reputation in an environment shaped by social media, entertainment, and public participation. Students explore how influence is created, contested, and sustained through strategic communication, public relations, audience engagement, and cultural discourse. Through case studies involving celebrities, musicians, creators, corporations, and social movements, students analyze the role of messaging, media systems, stakeholder expectations, and public opinion in shaping reputation and influence.
