Overview of class
SAI 581 Internship Seminar is designed for Master of Arts in Sound Arts and Industries students who are actively interning during the summer quarter. SAI 581 is comprised of two components: an asynchronous seminar and experiential learning. Running concurrently with students' internships (minimum of 80 hours during the quarter), this course is designed to enhance, support, and maximize experiential learning within professional sound and media-related environments.
The seminar focuses on professional best practices, intentional reflection, and industry engagement, helping students critically reflect on their internship experiences in relation to evolving industry trends, workplace culture, and professional growth. Through guided reflection and discussion, students will connect academic learning to real-world practice, deepen their understanding of professional environments, and expand their industry knowledge and networks. Coursework encourages students to explore how their experiences and current industry trends inform their ongoing professional development and future goals.
Registration Requirements
To enroll in SAI 581, students must first submit their internship experience through Handshake for review and approval. Once the internship experience has been approved, students will receive a course permission number to register for the class.
