Overview of class

As marketers, we are awash with data. We have access to almost real-time data about customers, competitors, markets and economies.  While corporate dashboards can distill the data into information, the true skill lies in understanding how to harness this vast universe of data and transform it into a compelling story that explains, enlightens, and engages your target stakeholder group. This challenge becomes even more complex when considering concepts such as Simpson's Paradox, in which the exact same set of data can yield opposing, yet simultaneously valid, observations.

In Data Storytelling, we will learn how to craft compelling stories that support our marketing strategies by leveraging data and analytics to inform a purposeful, enlightening, and engaging communication piece that can motivate an organization to action.
