Overview of class
This special-topics course surveys the physics of the early Universe, building on knowledge gained from the first-quarter Quantum Field Theory and General Relativity. Topics include cosmological expansion and thermal history, the origin and evolution of primordial perturbations, inflation, the cosmic microwave background and its anisotropies, structure formation, and the roles of dark matter and dark energy in the standard cosmological model, with emphasis on the physical interpretation of the main theoretical ingredients and observational constraints.
