Overview of class

This course is a combination of lecture and demonstration in which students will learn the principles of makeup design and execution for the stage. The class focuses on creating stage makeup designs, learning technical skills of applying stage makeup, and application of said techniques. The students will become familiar with the design process (conducting research before creating their own unique final makeup designs for specific characters), and learn to apply both two and three dimensional makeup applications (basic corrective and old age makeup, facial injuries and gore, and abstract designs).

Open to all undergraduates during regular registration

Class Materials (Required)

A Ben Nye makeup kit (approximately $150) is required for the course, but any student who has any financial difficulty purchasing a kit can and should reach out to the instructor (markparkcreative@gmail.com) and they can help students purchase the necessary materials for the course.
