Meeting Info
RCMA Lower Level 121: Tues 3:30PM - 4:50PM
Overview of class
Musicianship for Actors is designed to develop a high level of musical literacy for everystudent actor, regardless of their incoming musical ability. The class aims to bridge
the gap between the classroom and "real world" application of music reading and analysis through the practical application of the pitch elements of music (harmony and melody) and temporal elements of music (rhythm, meter, etc.). Daily class activities include sight-singing, ear training, keyboard application, improvisation, and critical listening - all in the context of musical analysis. Musical material will be drawn from the music theatre repertoire.
