Overview of class
This course is an introduction to the process of costume design. Through the coursework and in-class presentations, you will learn the steps and the design process of visualizing costumes for theater. You will become familiar with how to approach a script from the perspective of a costume designer and generate ideas based on visual and dramaturgical research. You will also develop skills such as drawing and painting, though no prerequisite classes, design experience, or previous artistic abilities are required for this class.
