Overview of class
Composing for the Screen 2 is a workshop-style course in which composers learn advanced techniques in film scoring while working collaboratively with a director on scoring a short film. In this course, students will learn about orchestration, notation, advanced harmonic practices, and working in a live scoring session. A key aspect of this course involves scoring a large-scale (10-20 minutes) project in collaboration with a director/producer. Students are encouraged to find a collaborating director/producer by the beginning of the term.
