This course introduces students to the theory, practice, and professional judgment required to manage communication during organizational crises. Designed for communication professionals, it emphasizes disciplined execution, leadership presence, and ethical communication under pressure. Students learn to diagnose crises, apply foundational crisis communication theory, and translate strategic direction into clear, audience-appropriate communication deliverables across channels and stakeholders. The course balances foundational theory, applied practice, professional dispositions and soft skills, culminating in a team-based Crisis Response Portfolio suitable for professional showcasing.
