Overview of class
This course focuses on dance and performance practices that refuse regulation, coherence, and standardization. Through studio experimentation and theoretical inquiry, students examine how bodies become sites of resistance, failure, and transformation. Attention is given to performance as a mode of critical and embodied knowledge production. A series of movement responses, reflective writing, and discussion will result in a faint performance at the end of the quarter.
