Overview of class

This class will examine the mechanics of litigation—such as pleading, class certification, and joinder—and the remedies courts may award—such as nationwide injunctions, vacatur, structural injunctions, and damages. It will also analyze the government's role as a representative of the public interest, the judiciary's role as a backstop to prevent abuses of power, and the benefits and costs of the adversarial system in public law litigation.
