Overview of class
This course explores sound as both craft and critical practice. Students will examine the evolution of sound recording, editing and design while analyzing how sound communicates emotion, shapes audience perception, and reflects cultural soundscapes. Through listening exercises, critiques and hands-on workshops, students will develop creative approaches to using sound in storytelling. This course blends theory with practice and equips students with technical skills in recording and sound design, along with the analytical frameworks needed to create compelling sonic narratives.
