Overview of class

This one-quarter accelerated course in Intermediate Spanish is designed to further develop the intercultural communicative proficiency of students of Spanish as a heritage language, through the discussion of readings and films. By the end of the course, students will be able to use their broadened cultural understanding, language/literacy skills, and registers of use beyond the classroom in meaningful and authentic ways at the Intermediate High level of proficiency. This course is designed for students who grew up with Spanish as their main language at home and/or in their communities. Successful completion of Spanish 127-0 fulfills the Weinberg foreign language proficiency requirement. Offered in fall only. Prerequisite: Spanish heritage learners with an AP score of 3 OR sufficient score on the Spanish Language Placement Exam.

Prerequisite: Spanish heritage learners with an AP score of 3 OR sufficient score on the Spanish Language Placement Exam.

Enrollment Requirements

Enrollment Requirements: Registration for Majors and Minors in either Spanish or Portuguese until the end of preregistration, after which time enrollment will be open to everyone who has taken the prerequisite. Prerequisite: Spanish heritage learners with an AP score of 3 or sufficient score on the Spanish Language Placement Exam.
