Overview of class
Field methods in stratigraphy and sedimentology; interpretation of depositional systems, facies models, and sequence stratigraphy based on field observations. Continuation of Earth 330; 3.5 week field trip
to Colorado/Utah in late August to mid-September, returning in time for the fall class (workshop) in which students will compile field observations into a final report.

Prerequisite: Earth 330
Teaching Method
Two 80 minute workshop sessions per week
Evaluation Method
Field exercises; Field notes; Final field report; Discussion of supporting literature.
