Overview of class

Students will propose and make a short video essay. In the first four weeks, we'll have a crash course in the history / theory of the film / video essay. Detailed production plans are due at the beginning of week three. At week five we move into production mode, with optional technical workshops (this studio class is meant to accommodate participants with various levels of experience / technical expertise), ongoing consultations and class crits of works in progress. Final works premiere at the end of the quarter.
