Overview of class
Music Direction Seminar is an exploration of the various roles and responsibilities of the theatre music director. The course is designed to give students the materials and methods required for successful and artistic musical direction of both established music theatre works and the development of new/original work. This course also prepares students for the practical application of this broad set of music director skills in Wirtz, STUCO, and AMTP productions. The seminar will use materials from the production processes of Fall Wirtz Musical and the pre-production process of the Winter Wirtz Musical. The seminar is appropriate or both experience students and students interested in exploring music direction for the first time.
