Overview of class
The course is comprised of lectures, demonstrations, in-class work time, weekly projects, and critiques. Projects assigned each week are due, and will be critiqued, at the start of the following class. I suggest you give yourself 2 to 4 hours of outside work time. The Paint Shop is open 9-5 Monday through Friday.
1. Students will develop an understanding of value, color, form and texture. Techniques particularly important to the theatre will be introduced and developed.
2. The collaborative relationship between set designer and scenic artist will be discussed as it relates to process, planning and material choice.
3. Students will develop a portfolio that may serve their professional development.
