Overview of class
Writing Utopia - Plays for a Better World
Utopia is defined as a place where the government, laws, and social conditions are perfect for all citizens. What does Utopia mean to you? What might that look like onstage? In this course, we will discuss ideas of what makes for a perfect society now, how we write plays that express that ideal, and how playwrights might play a part in building, if not a perfect, then a better society. Students will ultimately craft a one-act Utopian play of their own. Open to students from any department and major. No permission number is required. Meets Thursdays from 3-5:50pm. Professor: Julie Marie Myatt
