Overview of class
This class will be an investigative process to explore, discuss, understand, and embody the dramatic form of Tragedy from a global perspective, seeing the Actor as Humanist Storyteller. Utilizing the vocal, physical, and imaginative work from sophomore year, students explore Tragedy through characters that are trapped by radically limited options, the highest stakes, and who embody a large magnitude of internal feelings and external expression, and identify strong arguments experienced by character and audience. Technical focus on extension, and on the large size of internal feelings and external expression.
