Overview of class
Students will investigate scenes featuring dramatic and comedic literature from both stage plays, film, and television scripts. Classwork to include ensemble building, study of scripts from known/recognized contemporary playwrights, and script writers. Students will engage in script analysis/research, methods of characterization, development of the world of the character, role preparation, responding truthfully in the moment and moment to moment, professional practices, and a strong emphasis on contemporary scene study from produced plays, movie and television scripts.
Registration Requirements
Preference form will be distributed by the department to seniors of the Acting Sequence. Students will be assigned a section and issued a permission number.

Text Book: Respect for Acting, empty journal, copy/printing fees $26-50
