Overview of class

• Develop critical listening and evaluative skills for effective vocal assessment and instruction.
• Review and apply fundamental principles of vocal production in practical teaching and performance contexts.

Registration Requirements

Student must be at the Masters level in Vocal Performance. Register for the course through Caesar.

Learning Objectives

• Comprehend the fundamentals of healthy vocal production, including relevant anatomy and physiology.
• Develop and apply critical listening and observational skills to assess a singer's vocal strengths and areas for improvement.
• Utilize knowledge of posture, breath management, resonance, registration, and articulation to identify and address technical issues in beginner singers.
• Begin to develop and use appropriate pedagogical language and methodology for effective vocal instruction.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of vocal production and apply this knowledge effectively in a teaching context.
