This course offers a scholarly exposure to a selection of philosophical texts belonging to the Ancient Greek and the Roman world. In addition to enjoying the opportunity to appreciate the works of renowned philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle, we will also be developing essential skills throughout the course, such as being able to read philosophical material charitably, to respond with appropriate criticism, and to write our own thoughts in formats commonly used in academic settings today. No knowledge of Ancient Greek or Latin is required, nor any prior exposure to the history or philosophy of the region.
