Overview of class

This advanced data journalism course equips students with the skills and knowledge to excel in the dynamic and evolving field of data-driven journalism. Building upon foundational journalistic principles, this course dives deep into the world of data collection, analysis, and visualization to empower students to tell compelling stories with data.

Students will master advanced techniques in data gathering, cleaning, and analysis using industry-standard tools and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL. They will also gain expertise in data visualization, harnessing the power of cutting-edge software to create immersive, interactive graphics to enhance their storytelling capabilities.

Ethical considerations and data privacy are woven into the curriculum, ensuring students understand the responsible use of data in journalism.
