Overview of class

This lecture-based course is a broad introduction to the fundamental topics and issues most relevant to the scientific study of human cognition, including perception, attention, memory, knowledge representation, language, reasoning, and problem solving.

Recommended Prerequisite: Psych 110

Learning Objectives

Through this course, students will: 1. learn about the significant scientific concepts and theories associated with the psychological study of cognition 2. become familiar with methods that have commonly been used to explore these issues 3. have the opportunity to read and write about current cognitive psychological research

Lecture: 2 80minute lectures weekly

Evaluation Method

3 non-cumulative exams (~85% of the final grade), 2 one-page research reports (~15%of final grade)
