Overview of class
This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental principles and techniques of stage direction. Students will develop and hone their individual creative impulses, learn essential text analysis and dramaturgical skills, and get practical experience working with actors. This course is structured to mirror a professional directing process, and will highlight pre-production directing work, designer and other creative collaboration, casting, and rehearsal techniques.
