Overview of class
Online communities are everywhere from your social feeds, group chats, and streams, to the training data that powers generative AI models and global software infrastructure. So, how do online communities work? Why have they had such vast impact? What can we learn from them to help build thriving communities online and beyond? This course surveys key topics in the history, science, design, and practice of online communities and crowds.
