Overview of class

Course Objectives: • To support your social science research for Honors in Psychology in a guided seminar experience that includes designing, conducting, and reporting the results of your Honors project, from start to finish. • To familiarize you with the practice and culture of research to further enhance your talent as an educated consumer of research. • To provide an opportunity to learn from the group about lines of inquiry and research that differ you're your own, but might inform your future career plans.

Evaluation Method

You will be evaluated based on your participation in the seminar, the quality of your written research proposal (Fall), the quality of your final thesis (Spring), and your poster presentations (Spring). Your thesis advisor and either Professor Waxman or our TA will evaluate your drafts and proposal.

Class Materials (Suggested)

Recommended Text APA Style Manual, most recent edition. This is available at most large bookstores, including Norris. It may also be available in the lab you'll be working in. The Writing Workshop. B. Sarnecka, PDF is uploaded on Caesar. It is also available from the NU Library.
