Overview of class
In this course, we will examine some of classics of American Pragmatism including works by C. S. Peirce, William James, and John Dewey.
Learning Objectives
The main learning objective, besides learning about pragmatism, is formulating a good topic for a research paper in this area.

Class Notes
For all students in Philosophy 401 the major research assignment of the course will be a long paper (up to 8,000 words) submitted at the end of the second term; the topic for the paper will be chosen by the end of the first term.
