Overview of class
A survey of the chemical, physical and biological mechanisms and fundamental concepts of stable isotope fractionation. The course will focus on applications of H, O, C, S, and N isotopes to earth and environmental problems with an emphasis on climate change, ecology, and ocean chemistry.
Registration Requirements
Recommended Background: EARTH 201 or EARTH 203 or ENVR_SCI 201 or ENVR_SCI 202.

Evaluation Method
Problem sets, presentations, midterm and final exam.
