Overview of class
This course is well designed for art majors in their junior year who have already taken multiple classes in the Art, Theory, and Practice department and are working towards building a self-directed practice. This course aims for students to develop working strategies and modes of research and study that support and guide their art-making practices and ultimately lead up to their Senior Exhibition the following year. This course is studio-based with self-guided prompts that will produce a variety of artworks, followed by class critiques. Students will also learn how to write an artist statement that exemplifies their intentions in their respective practices. For students interested in bringing their ideas to fruition in various mediums and who desire more independence and experimentation, this course is for you!
